So happy to be able to send out 26 quilts to Bags of Love!  We hope they will bring comfort and love to children in distress and let them know we care:) Thank you for letting us be a part of this wonderful program!

Neonatal Quilts

35 more preemie quilts delivered to the Leter Lougheed Neonatal unit.  Thanks to the wonderful ladies of Hill Spring who helped sew and quilt these precious little gifts for those tiny little babies!

Community Sew Days

We made 40 preemies quilts at October and November sew days!  Thanks so much to all who came and gave service to provide for the neonatal units at our local hospitals! 

Biennial Bide A Wee General Mtg

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 11th, 7:00 pm at the Community Center. 
 Anyone who is or is interested in using the quilting machine is invited to attend .
 We will be holding elections for the board, demonstrating tools that are there for your use,  and letting you know about some upcoming events. 

Original Bide A Wee Member

Marr Draper is the only surviving member

 of the original Bide A Wee Club. She is 100 years old!

We named our community organization 

BIDE A WEE QUILTS 

after this wonderful group of Hill Spring women! 

We presented Marr with a quilt to honour her and those others who went before us and embraced quilting as do we. Even though it’s changed a bit since way back then, quilting lives on as a beautiful and enduring art! 

3rd Annual Quilt Show:)

Our 3rd Annual Quilt Show was a resounding success!  We displayed 118 gorgeous quilts and had 140 attendees!  What a wonderful day!

We were so excited to see this little guy on the news! He is in the neonatal unit at the Peter Lougheed, and there was an article about the expansion to the unit. A friend of ours spotted the quilt! How it warms our hearts to see the quilts we made on community quilt day being given to these precious little babies!

Quilts for Preemies:)

What a fun project this was!  Tiny quilts for tiny babies! We delivered 20 this week for the Peter Lougheed neonatal unit in Calgary, and have 20 more to complete and donate at a later date! 

Thanks to all of you WONDERFUL ladies in our community who have come out to community sewing day to contribute to this great effort!

PREEMIE QUILTS!

Community Quilt Day today.  

These awesome ladies made 32 preemie quilts for babies in the neonatal unit! They're not bound yet and 7 more need to be quilted, but what a great day!

Quilts For Mexico!

Thank you to the Thiessen family for delivering quilts to Chihuahua and the surrounding mountain area! They said it was a blessing to be able to do this for us and we appreciate it! 10 more quilts to beautiful little babies!

2017 Quilt Show!

Wow, ladies!  Our beautiful Gammil is going strong! 30 quilts quilted in November, and 16 in December!  We hope this means you'll all be entering quilts in our 3rd Annual Quilt Show! Welcome 2017!

10 Quilts For PERU!

Welcome Fall! Maybe we can all get back to some quilting after a wonderful, fun-filled summer!
Just a quick FYI...we have 10 charity quilts ready and they will be off to PERU next month with Brandon and Jana Wynder.  Thanks, guys!  Find some beautiful little babies who can enjoy them!

QUILT MACHINE ON VACATION!

The quilt machine is taking a week off July 21-27! Hope this doesn't inconvenience anyone, but the computer has gone to SLC for an upgrade! Back soon!

2nd ANNUAL QUILT SHOW!

Our 2nd annual quilt show on April 19th to a 'sell out' crowd (although admission was free) was a huge success! Attendees and competitors from Calgary, Okotoks, Pincher Creek, Fort Macleod, Cardston, Mt. View, Raymond, Magrath, Lethbridge and, of course, Hill Spring enjoyed a display of 132 gorgeous quilts! Prizes were awarded in 10 different categories, and a demonstration on various quilting tools ended the day. Thanks to all who came out and supported this great event! See you again next year!
